Sentinel of Fire by Steven Breaz
At Kalaloch, a lone tree rises from the bluff like a steadfast guardian of the coast. As the sun descends into the Pacific, the sky ignites in layers of flame—gold, amber, and crimson folding into violet twilight. The ocean mirrors the blaze, carrying the last embers of day into the horizon. In this fleeting moment, the sentinel stands watch, silhouetted against fire and sea.
