The aurora borealis descends like a shimmering curtain, draping the night in bands of emerald and violet flame. Captured during the great geomagnetic storm of May 2024 from a dark stretch of the Snoqualmie River Valley, this image weaves together two visions of power: the silhouetted grid of human invention and the unfathomable energy of the cosmos.

The power lines cut across the luminous sky, not as intrusions, but as reminders — our engineered currents dwarfed by the vast electric veil that pulses above us. Starlight scatters through the glow, adding a quiet rhythm to a scene both grounded and celestial.
